As mentioned before elsewhere, I have determined to make all future contributions to The Nervous Breakdown in the form of Untimely Book Reviews. Why, exactly, this obsession with Untimely? I am not at all sure, but for the moment it feels right.

The new iteration of Nothing in the World is now available for pre-order at Dzanc. We're still tweaking the cover but it's well along already: more fantastic work by Steven Seighman. I cannot tell you how pleased I am that this book is getting a second chance at life.

The Three Fanyiketeers.

Eric Abrahamsen, perhaps my oldest China-based friend, has gathered together a couple of the hottest young English translators of, among other things, contemporary Chinese literary fiction, and founded Paper Republic. Very much worth a look if that's your sort of thing.

Falling Through.

The Spring/Summer '07 issue of Alaska Quarterly Review is out, and it's got a story of mine in it called "Falling Through," which is shacking up with work by Michael Downs and Jack Driscoll, among others. "Falling Through" is tied to a story I had in Harpur Palate last year; whether those ties thicken into ropes or cables of some sort is, at this point, anyone's guess.
